A Review of the 2019 Season

  • In 2018, Roper made his debut in the NASCAR Truck Series running part-time and funded through his construction company, Preferred Industrial Contractors. In the 2019 season, Roper continued running part-time with Preferred Industrial Contractors with his best finishes in his home town of TEXAS of course! He got his first Top Ten finish, 9th place, at Texas Motor Speedway Vankor 350 with a 20th starting position. Then 12th at TMS for the SpeedyCash.Com 400, starting 29th. Out of 9 race starts, Roper had 1 Top Ten and 4 Top 20 finishes with his best start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 5th position.
  • The 2.5-Mile Track Daytona is the Super Bowl of racing that Cory Roper has been watching as long as he could remember. He has raced at many big tracks, but not this big when he made his way into NASCAR. Last season was Roper’s first time at Daytona International Speedway, starting 25th and finishing 20th. Now he will have the opportunity, with the help of sponsors, to run again at this historical track.
  • The Team-Based in Mont Belvieu, Texas, just outside of Houston, Roper Racing fields the No. 04 Ford F-150 truck. The core of the team has worked with Cory for many years. Not only are they all hard workers, many friends, and family members, who work all day at their regular jobs but stay late nights at the race shop because they are dedicated to the success of the team.
  • The Driver 2020 marks the 3rd season in the NASCAR Truck Series for Cory Roper. Roper is not only the driver but the team owner as well. Driving in NASCAR has been a lifelong dream for Roper. Cory has been around 3 racecars and working in a race shop for most of his life. He grew up watching his dad, Kenny Roper, compete. At the age of 14, Roper got his first racecar and started competing on a local and regional level at short tracks in Texas and Oklahoma where he won points and track championships. The Vernon, Texas, native now resides in Mont Belvieu near Houston, Texas with his wife, Cherie, and daughters Megan and Britney. Cory Roper, driver of the No. 04 Alliance Aviation Ford F-150

What are your goals for the race at Daytona Speedway and expectations for the 2020 season?

” I am excited about going back to Daytona with the partnerships we have gained with our new sponsors. Roper Racing Team has worked hard and invested in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoor Truck Series to become a top tier team. We could not do this without our new partnerships and we are excited to be representing them for the 2020 season. My goal is to qualify in this race and keep the nose clean for 250 miles. We had a fast truck last year running in the top three with 20 to go until I made a mistake that cost us our day. I learned a lot last year in my first superspeedway race and I am ready to try it again. We have a great truck that Shane and the crew built and we are ready to get the season started.”

Shane Whitbeck, crew chief of the No. 04 Alliance Aviation Ford F-150

What are your goals for the race at Daytona Speedway and expectations for the 2020 season?

“Starting the year out at Daytona with the Roper Racing Alliance Aviation Ford F-150 is something I am looking forward to! Cory enjoys racing in the pack at Daytona and if everything goes right, we have a chance to win the race. Everybody at Roper Racing has been working hard to get everything ready to start the season for the Gander & RV Outdoors Truck Series. We had a good race at Daytona last year until we got involved in a crash. I hope we have gained ground on our single car so we can qualify in the top 15. I cannot begin to thank all of our partners that joined the Roper Racing Team for the 2020.”
